Greenwich Village Penthouse
New York, New York

This Manhattan residence, located within the landmark One Fifth Avenue building, is a contemporary example of the tradition linking architecture and the allied arts. Responding to the client’s desire for “clean lines and open space,” the unique spaces of this 1,600 square foot duplex condominium are unified with custom, architect-designed built-in cabinetry, furniture and lighting.

The overall philosophy for this interior is one of studied simplicity. A rich but limited material pallet including maple floors, clear and ebonized ash casework, slate, brushed steel, and subtle wall color was used to compose a series of “calm” spaces in which to present the owner’s collections of classic furniture and ceramics.
